CHICO, Calif. - Some young fire survivors from Paradise are getting a chance to learn at the college level.
Sixth graders from Paradise Intermediate School sat in on a math class taught by Chico State faculty.
Paradise Intermediate teachers reached out to Chico State faculty shortly after the fire, and the students attended this workshop to learn how to build 3-D models of different shapes.
"All sorts of teachers have stepped up and offered their classrooms, offered to teach kids, and to share things with them," said Linda Cassady, a sixth-grade teacher at Paradise Intermediate School. "It's been easy for us to get here and they've been very welcoming."
Chico State faculty also helped organize field trips and lesson plans to help Paradise students continue their learning.
