SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - The name of the inmate who died in the Officer-Involved shooting at Fairchild Medical Center has been released, according to Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.
Chad Curtis Loynachan, 29, was from Tigard, Oregon. He was booked into the Siskiyou County Jail on Feb. 5.
Loynachan was charged for possession of drugs for sale, felon in possession of multiple loaded firearms, and possession of an improvised explosive device.
On Friday, a corrections deputy was bringing Loynachan out of a medical clearance when a scuffle between the deputy and Loynachan broke out.
Loynachan tried to take the deputy’s gun and escape but the deputy fired a shot and hit the inmate. Loynachan died receiving medical treatment.
