Grab that jacket and umbrella before you head out the door this morning. Today looks like it will be the coolest day of the week, and we have the potential for active weather in both the valley and mountains today. Showers and thunderstorms will be prevalent in the mountains through your Wednesday, and valley areas have a very decent chance of active weather. The best chance for activity in the valley will be in the Northern zones again today, but we can't rule out some showers or thunderstorms developing in the mid valley as well. Some showers have lingered into early this morning in the Northern Mountains, and it won't be long before we see more activity popping up today. Temperatures are starting out in the mid to high 50's in the valley this morning, and in the 40's to 50's in the mountains. Winds will be out of the South from 10 to 15mph this afternoon, but some stronger gusts will be possible. Thunderstorms will also have the potential to produce hail again today, so drivers are advised to be cautious. Temperatures will end up in the mid 70's in the valley this afternoon, and mountain areas will end up in the 50's to 60's later today. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible well into tonight.

A decent warming trend will return to our region for your Thursday, but the chance for more showers and thunderstorms will linger. The best chance for active weather on Thursday will be across the Sierra, but portions of the valley could see a bit more wet weather popping up through the day. The most likely areas for wet weather in the valley will be in the Northern zones on Thursday. Temperatures will end up back in the low 80's for the valley on Thursday afternoon. Valley areas look to stay dry on Friday, but we will still have a decent chance for some showers along the Sierra crest. Temperatures will end up back in the mid 80's in the valley on Friday.

Sunny skies, and highs in the mid 80's are ahead for the valley on Saturday, and mountain areas are expected to stay mostly dry. Only a slight chance for showers will be lingering in the Sierra. Sunday will be a couple degrees cooler than Saturday, and mostly mild weather is expected. We'll stay in the mid 80's in the valley for the start of next week, and another chance for wet weather will be returning towards the middle of next week.
