UPDATE 2:31 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2019 - The reason no charges were filed in this incident is because the person who used the pellet gun was acting in "self defense," said Megan McMann of the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
UPDATE 2:06 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019 - According to the Butte County Sheriff's Office the incident happened on Newsom Ranch Road and Big Bend Road.
There was an altercation between two people living on a property.
One party was injured by shots from a pellet gun.
Community coordinator Megan McMann of the Butte County Sheriff's Office said the person who was shot declined medical attention and left the scene.
Investigators said no files will be charged in this incident.
BIG BEND, Calif. - A person on Big Bend Road was bleeding from gunshot wounds to the head and neck said a spokesperson from the CAL FIRE Butte Unit. They sent personnel from Jarbo Gap Station 36 to the scene shortly after noon on Sunday.
Medical responders received permission to enter the area from the Butte County Sheriff's Office and a landing zone for a medical airlift was set up at the Pines Hardware Store. That air flight order was cancelled a little more than a half an hour after the initial report of the incident was received.
