GLENN COUNTY, Calif. – A Redding man was arrested in Glenn County after law enforcement say he was transporting an explosive device.
On Monday, Jan. 11, a deputy with the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office was flagged down by a person on Highway 45 and County Road 57. According to the deputy, the victim told him someone attempted to steal fuel from their ranch.
The deputy later located 32-year-old Richard Hodges in the Ord Bend area of Glenn County. Hodges was found to be operating a reported stolen vehicle and transporting an explosive device, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Butte County Interagency Bomb Team arrived to assist and rendered the explosive safe.
Hodges was booked into the Glenn County Jail for several charges, including possession of a destructive device, transportation of a destructive device, according to the sheriff’s office.
