OROVILLE, Calif. – A Chico woman was arrested by Butte County Sheriff’s Deputies for burglarizing a home in Magalia, authorities announced on Tuesday.
Deputies arrested 32-year-old Samantha Sappenfield.
On Feb. 18, deputies said they responded to a report of a residential burglary in the area of Coutolenc Road in Magalia. Several firearms were stolen from the home.
Authorities said they located evidence showing Sappenfield as one of the people responsible for the burglary.
On Feb. 19, deputies attempted to contact Sappenfield at her home in Chico. While at her home, detectives said they found property stolen from the burglary. Sappenfield was later found in Downtown Chico.
Sappenfield admitted to detectives that she went to Magalia and burglarized the residence, she was arrested for one felony count of residential burglary and for being a prohibited person in possession of firearms.
The sheriff’s office said they are still investigating this case and additional arrests are anticipated.
