GERBER, Calif. – Investigators are searching for a suspect after two armed robberies that happened on the same street and within minutes of each other in Gerber Thursday.

Investigators said the robberies happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday on Ventura Ave in Gerber.

The suspect threatened both the victims with a pistol, the sheriff's office said.

The first victim reported that the suspect threatened to shoot him if he did not provide him with items that were in his pocket. The victim said he had nothing on him, and the suspect left the scene on foot with nothing.

The second victim told investigators the suspect also pointed a pistol at him and demanded money. He gave the suspect the money in his pocket which was about $40 in cash, investigators said. The suspect then left the scene on foot.

In both cases, the suspect was described as a slender man, dressed in black, and wearing a ski mask, early to mid-20s; about 5’ 9,” and 120 to 140 lbs. according to the Tehama County Sheriff's Office. However, one victim described him as white, another said he was black.

Both victims were unharmed.
