ANDERSON, Calif - Some talented dogs were just too busy to wag their tails this weekend at the Shasta County Fairgrounds.

The Shasta Kennel Club held its inaugural dog show.

More than 700 dogs signed up, there were pugs, hounds, boxers, you name it!

For a quarter of a century, this dog show has been held in Gridley.

The event includes agility, racing and "best in show."

“This has been like my fourth year competing in dog shows so I’m very very excited most of the time. So I used to be nervous like oh my gosh what am I going to do what if my dog poops in the ring but now I’m chill I know she is going to do great,” said Brielle Villarreal.
