CHICO, Calif. - After two years of work, the renovation at Shasta Elementary in Chico is finally complete. A ribbon-cutting celebration was held this week to mark the occasion.
The $14.3 million dollar project included 31 new permanent classrooms ... adding six new classrooms to the campus.
A new Science Lab was also added, along with a new Administration Office and fenced entrance and a new Kindergarten Playground.
Classrooms now include Interactive TV/Teaching Stations.
Originally built in 1964, the school now features a new bus drop, expanded parking, new Exterior Safety lighting, new Library Space and new furniture campus-wide.
The work required the demolition of 14 portable buildings. It was paid for through Measures E and K, and Developer Fees.
