COTTONWOOD, Calif. -- The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who robbed a Cottonwood business at gunpoint Sunday morning.

The Sheriff's Office said around 9:12 a.m., a store clerk at Gas Point Market on Gas Point Road was alone in the store when the suspect walked in with a bandanna over his face.

The suspect held a handgun and demanded the clerk give him all the money from the cash register or he would shoot her, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said the clerk gave an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect left the store.

The suspect drove off in a 90’s model silver sedan, possibly a Honda, with oxidizing paint, the Sheriff's Office said.

The suspect is described as a White male in his late twenties, short dark brown hair, hazel eyes, approximately 5’7” and weighing 130 pounds.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information pertaining to this case is encouraged to call the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 245-6025 or contact Secret Witness of Shasta County online or via phone at (530) 243-2319.

The first of two storms moved over northern California late last night and this morning, but our weather has quieted for now. More rain showers will fall Saturday, but heavier rain and snow with stronger wind arrives Sunday.
