SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Shasta County Board of Supervisors is searching for a new Shasta County Sheriff.
Sheriff Tom Bosenko announced his retirement last month, leaving the board of supervisors to find a replacement.
The board opened the application up online and will be publicly interviewing candidates for the job. The board members want the public to weigh in.
"We are going to literally place the job of sheriff out there advertise it promote it," Shasta County Board of Supervisors, Les Baugh said. "And on December 10 we’re gonna come back to the board of supervisors and publicly interview those were interested in becoming our next sheriff and as the saying goes let the best man or woman win."
John Greene, a candidate for the sheriff in the last election says he will be in the running. Current Undersheriff Eric Magrini will also be in the running.
Sheriff Bosenko will be retiring on Dec. 30, 2019.
