Shasta College gains seven-year accreditation

a 7 year re-accreditation for Shasta Community College is granted.

Redding, CA - According to Shasta College, At its January meeting, The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) reaffirmed Shasta College’s seven-year accreditation, the longest period of time allowed by the Commission for colleges to maintain accredited status. Shasta College Superintendent/President Dr. Joe Wyse issued a statement saying "I am extremely proud of the work being done by the faculty and staff of Shasta College represented by obtaining the highest outcome possible, a full seven year re-affirmation of our accreditation. I am pleased with the 16 commendations received from the visiting team of peer evaluators, especially the recognition of the collegial and inclusive environment that we have created for the Shasta College community.” Every aspect of the college, including academic quality, financial management, institutional effectiveness, student learning programs and support services, technology, and human and physical resource management, was evaluated.

All colleges are required to file a Midterm Report in the fourth year after evaluation, indicating progress on recommendations and future goals. The next report from Shasta College will be the Midterm Report due in October 2021 and the next comprehensive review will occur in the fall term of 2024
