REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College is canceling all in-person classes on Sept. 24 due to the proximity of the Fawn Fire to the main Redding Campus.

Online courses will continue as planned while faculty teaching in-person classes will make adjustments as needed.
The main campus closure will not affect any other campuses, according to Shasta College. Classes at the Downtown Health Science and University Center, Redding Public Library, Tehama, Intermountain, and Trinity Campuses will continue as scheduled.

Shasta College anticipates normal operations and in-person instruction to return on Sept. 27.

If a change in plans is required the college will provide an update 6 p.m. on Sept. 26.

Showers are tapering off early Tuesday, and we're left with areas of dense fog for your Tuesday morning commute. We'll have clearing skies and warmer temperatures ahead for your Tuesday afternoon, but the next wet system will arrive on Wednesday. Some showers will linger Thursday, but we'll dry and and become chilly late this week. A substantial wet system will then bring heavy rain and snow to our region from Sunday through at least the start of next week.
