“Severely decomposed” body found in Humboldt Co.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif - The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “severely decomposed” body found in Centerville Beach, according to a press release.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif - The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “severely decomposed” body found in Centerville Beach, according to a press release.

Deputies were dispatched to the beach, which is one-quarter of a mile from the mouth of the Eel River, just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Coroner’s Office arrived and took the body for investigation, but officials have not released information about the gender of the deceased.

The investigation is ongoing and no cause of death has been determined, according to HCSO.
