BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Butte County Public Health says 15 of the recently confirmed cases on Aug. 26 have been connected to an apartment complex in Chico near the University campus, meaning these cases are among people ages 18 to 24.
Additionally, health officials say one of those confirmed cases has also been linked to a second outbreak at a workplace.
Public health officials say it reports all outbreaks to the state's health department, and, in this case, has informed housing managers and employers to minimize further spread.
"People living in multi-unit housing complexes are urged to wear face coverings at all times when in common areas and to avoid gathering within 6 feet of others who do not live in their immediate unit, especially in community areas such as fitness centers, pools and barbeque areas," Butte County Public Health said in a press release.
