Saturday was a sunny, warm and beautiful day although it was much warmer in Redding--over 70 degrees than it was in Chico--just 59 due to high clouds blocking the sun. Sunday should be mostly sunny and warm for all of us with highs back into the 60's for the valley and lower 70's around Redding once again.
Strong high pressure over California is sending the jet stream northward to Alaska, and we're enjoying sunshine and warm temperatures. We'll see that continue through Tuesday although it will be a little cooler as we head into next week.
That ridge of high pressure begins to weaken as we go into mid week. Clouds will thicken up and our temperatures will cool back down some. A weak storm will try to bring us a few showers on Wednesday evening, then a slightly bigger storm will bring us some light rain on Friday, although neither storm looks that big. And some forecast models are also hinting that the high pressure ridge may even keep those storms from reaching us at all. Never-the-less the forecast now is for clouds, cooler temperatres and some showers for us mid week on.
