CHICO, Calif. - It's close to 100 degree in the North State -- but old Saint Nick is making a rare appearance at the Chico Mall this weekend.

That is because it is “Christmas in July.” That is the name of annual school supply drive that will benefit children from Chico and Paradise Unified School Districts.

People have been bringing donations all weekend that will fill classrooms for the year ahead.

For many families the generosity means a lot, said Lynnette Meyers from the Chico Mall. She said, “We’ve been doing this for years and it's great.”

Teachers from the district come to the mall and it's great,” Meyers continued. “They actually collect the supplies and take them directly to the students.

Santa will be at the mall on 20th Street on Sunday, July 21, 2019 until 3 p.m.

There are also drop off locations at the Elks Lodge, the Chico Chamber, the Rabo Bank branch on Forest Avenue, Staples and Office Depot.

The address of the Chico Mall is 1950 E. 20th Street.
