Man suspected of gas station robbery turned himself in

A man who was wanted for the Mar. 30 armed robbery of the Safeway gas station in Anderson turned himself in

Updated Saturday, May 4, 2019 - A man who was wanted as a suspect for the March 30, 2019 armed robbery of the Safeway gas station in Anderson turned himself in at the Shasta County Jail on Friday.

22-year-old Cottonwood resident Tyler Jesse Ward was named in a warrant issued by the Shasta County District Attorney's Office after detectives from the Anderson Police Department said they believe that Ward is the likely culprit.

Ward's bail was set at $105,000.


ANDERSON, Calif. -The Safeway gas station on Balls Ferry Rd. was robbed Saturday morning in Anderson.

According to the Anderson Police Department it happened right before 6:00 a.m. 

Police said the suspect entered the gas station and demanded cash.

He was wearing a face mask and a ball cap.
