HAYFORK, Calif. – Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Sacramento man for arson Monday.

Around 2:40 a.m. Monday, May 4, deputies found a fire in an outbuilding at a Hayfork area business. Firefighters with the Hayfork Fire Department responded and worked to extinguish the flames before extreme damage was done to the building.

Through investigation, deputies said they located evidence which made it appear that the fire had been started as a warming fire by a man identified as Sou Saetern, of Sacramento. After setting the fire, Saetern left the scene, according to detectives.

Saetern was located by detectives and admitted to starting the fire and leaving the area when the flames grew out of control, detectives said.

The Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Saetern with charges including arson.
