A man suspected of robbing a Redding gas station in late December is now in jail in the state of Colorado.

It was December 28, 2017 at about 10:00 at night when a man robbed the Gas 4 Less in downtown Redding on Pine Street.

He covered his face while allegedly threatening to kill the clerk with a handgun, but was recognized as a previous customer who had been in the store just a few minutes prior.

36- year old Lawrence Edward Williams of Redding was sought by local police, but was arrested Friday 1200 miles from Redding in Westminster, Colorado.

Tuesday Redding police said Williams is in custody and is awaiting extradition back to Shasta County on a warrant charging him with robbery.
