INGOT, Calif. - Action News Now has new developments regarding a homicide investigation in Shasta County.
Someone found the body of a man along Highway 299 near Ingot around 7 a.m. on Monday, police said.
The body was found near Sugar Pine Conservation Camp.
The California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, and the Shasta County Sheriff's office responded to the scene.
Investigators say the victim had significant injuries-no other details were released.
There is no threat to the public's safety, police said.
A suspect has not been identified.
