UPDATE: Rollover crash on Skyway leads to one mans death

The eastbound lane of the Skyway heading up to Paradise is closed near lookout point after a rollover crash.

UPDATE: 3:25 p.m. 
Around 4 a.m. on Friday December 8, CHP was dispatched to a solo vehicle crash on eastbound Skyway west of Skyway Cross Road.
Paradise Police were also on scene to assist.

Once officers arrived they realized that the driver had been ejected from the car.

The preliminary cause of the crash was that the driver made an unsafe turn allowing the car to leave the roadway.

The driver was transported to Enloe Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash.

Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the collision.

The eastbound lanes on Skyway towards Paradise are back open after a major injury rollover crash Friday morning.

Paradise police arrived on scene around 4:20 a.m.

Officers say it appears the driver, a 36-year-old man, was heading towards Paradise when he veered onto the embankment and flipped his Mercedes possibly several times and landed upside down.

The man was transported to the hospital immediately.

There were beer bottles inside the vehicle so the driver will be tested to see if alcohol was a factor in this crash.

The name of the driver is not being released as he is listed under serious condition.

A 36-year old man is being transported to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with life-threatening injuries after Paradise Police say he drop up on the embankment and flipped his Mercedes. It happened at around 4:26 a.m. Friday. Alcohol is being investigated as a factor in this crash.

Police say the eastbound lane should be open soon. This is a developing story, check back for more details.
