CORNING, Calif. - Rolling Hills Casino in Corning is expanding, adding four new restaurants and it needs a lot of help.
Action News Now got a tour of one of the restaurants under construction.
Inside the nearly 56,000 square feet project, you might encounter construction crews hard at work.
Some construction workers are painting, hooking wires, and cutting wood.
And soon their workspace will transform into a restaurant called “Rock and Brews.”
“When we open ‘Rock and Brews’ in the middle of April we're going to have a brewery and a distillery. There’s less than five of those in the country that have both a brewery and distillery in the same roof," said Steve Neely, the general manager of the casino.
Neely tells Action News Now he's excited about what this means for his community.
"We're in the process of adding over 100 jobs in our local economy!" Neely said.
Neely says they're not just looking for cooks and waiters.
They’re also looking to fill positions such as HR (human resources), marketing as well as finance, dealers, and much more.
"It’s a really exciting time to use this to boost our economy,” Andrew Alejandre, chairman of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki.
Before that can happen crews have to finish construction, and soon the building will be complete.
The casino will host a job fair on Wed., March 17, 2021.
