River Complex forces mandatory evacuations in Trinity County

The Trinity County Sheriff's Office has issued mandatory evacuations for the River Complex.

TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. - The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders for the River Complex.

The evacuation orders include the area along Coffee Creek Rd. from the Gold Field Campground to the East Fork of Coffee Creek.

This includes Boulder Creek Rd., Forest Service Rd. 37N19Y, Gold Fish Campground and McGuire Gulch.

It also includes all addresses between 4950 and 6000 on Coffee Creek Rd. and all properties adjacent to Coffee Creek Rd.

There is also an evacuation order for Billy’s Peak southeast to Highway 3 and the North Derrick Flat Rd. area.

This includes Highway 3 south through Coffee Creek proper and Hatchet Creek Rd., Hatchet Creek Rd west to the wilderness boundary and the wilderness boundary north to Coffee Creek Ranch.

The River Complex has burned 121,273 acres and is 21% contained as of Monday morning.

There is a community meeting Monday at the Trinty Center Elementary School Baseball Field at 1 Trinity Vista St.
