CHICO, Calif. - The Paradise Host Lions Club presents "An Insightful Day" on Friday, Sept. 28 at the Enloe Conference Center, located at 1528 Esplanade in Chico. It runs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The event is for people with sight loss or blindness and is free.

The event features booths representing many organizations and agencies that provide services like The State Department of Rehabilitation Vocational Training, North State Assistive Technology and the Society for the Blind. There will also be Guide Dog Demonstrations and free vision and diabetes screening.

Lions Clubs of Northern California will be assisting with eye exams and matching some of the participants with temporary eyeglasses.

Organizers say it's also an opportunity to meet and network with others who experience vision loss or who are blind.

Gusty winds and very dry conditions will drive high fire danger across northern California on Thursday. We'll also end up much cooler on Thursday afternoon. Lighter winds, hotter temperatures, and more widespread impacts to air quality are ahead for Friday and Saturday.
