LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. - A Reno man has been arrested after Lassen County Sheriff Deputies say he broke into a home and stole the homeowner's gun, before being caught and held at gunpoint by the homeowner and his neighbor.
Officials say around 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 they received a call from a neighbor stating the homeowner was in his garage and had the suspect, Matthew Isaac Cisneros, at gunpoint.
The neighbor also said Cisneros was armed with the homeowner's gun that officials say he found in the garage.
Another neighbor then armed himself and helped the homeowner keep the suspect detained until deputies arrived.
During a search, officials say a revolver was found on the suspect and the homeowner confirmed it was his.
Through further investigation, deputies learned the Ford F-550 driven by Cisneros was reported stolen in Reno earlier in the day.
Leading up to the homeowner finding him, officials say Cisneros went inside the garage, found several guns and put them into a boat that was also in the garage. This an apparent attempt to steal the boat as well, deputies say.
Cisneros was booked into the Lassen County Jail on $30,000.00 with several felony charges including burglary, grand theft of a firearm and vehicle theft.
