PARADISE, Calif. - Sunday is the day many families who surivived the Camp Fire will be celebrating Easter and the renewal it symbolizes at a community event at Bille Park in Paradise.

Stephen Murray was raised in Paradise. He has been helping survivors and is one of the organizers of the event.

Murray has found food, delivered propane, and even helped to provide trailer to families in need.

Murray told Action News Now that they are expecting more than 2,000 people at the event.

E&J's Mobile Kitchen (a non-profit agency) will be serving up hamburgers and hotdogs. A potluck will also be held.

Easter baskets will be given to children who attend the event, while supplies last. Organizers are hoping all children will receive baskets. There will also be an Easter egg hunt, games, and a visit by the Easter Bunny.

The event was created to help families who are struggling get together with each other in "a magical way for our children," said Murray.

The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and will continue until 5:00 p.m.

Ashlynn Pride, Stephen Murray and Paradise Fire Adopt a Family are the organizers of the event..

Murray posts regularly to his Facebook page with updates on his efforts to help survivors of the Camp Fire.
