Registration Deadline for FEMA Assistance Extended

The deadline to register for Camp Fire FEMA assistance has been extended to Feb. 15.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The deadline to register for Camp Fire FEMA disaster assistance has been extended to Feb. 15.

According to Jovanna Garcia, a representative with FEMA, the decision to extend the deadline came from the fact that they were not receiving many applications from residents of Concow and Magalia.

She says that this could have to do with the fact that there are no disaster recovery centers in Magalia or Concow.

Residents in those areas are now encouraged to visit the disaster recovery centers in Chico, Oroville and Paradise.

The decision was made by the state and FEMA to extend the registration deadline to Feb. 15, 2019. They have also issued a deadline extension for SBA forms until Feb. 15, 2019.

The original deadline was Jan. 31, 2019.

The following are the locations of the Disaster Recovery Centers in Butte County:

Chico Mall (1982 E. 20th Street, Chico)

Hours: Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Oroville Store Front (2140 Feather River Boulevard, Oroville)
