Redding welcomes new Mayor, council members

The Redding City Council voted to elect Erin Resner to the position of Mayor on 12/01/2020.

The City of Redding welcomed a new mayor Tuesday night.

REDDING, Calif. – The City of Redding welcomed a new mayor Tuesday night.

The city council voted to elect Erin Resner to the position. Resner was elected to the City Council to serve a four-year term in 2018. For the past year, she served as the council's Vice Mayor. 

The council voted Kristen Schreder to become vice mayor. Incumbents Julie Winter, and Allyn Clark were re-elected and sworn in last night. Newcomer Mark Mezzano was also welcomed.

Outgoing Mayor, Adam McElvain, was honored Tuesday night for his service. McElvain was first elected to the Redding council in 2016 and the mayor since December 2019.
