REDDING, Calif. - The City of Redding is loosening restrictions on outdoor dining to help restaurants maintain social distancing while serving more people.
Under relaxed requirements, restaurants and bars are allowed to expand service into parking areas and sidewalks adjacent to their buildings, as long as access remains open for emergency doors, fire lanes and foot traffic.
This in hopes restaurants can re-open and practice social distancing to work toward limiting the spread of the coronavirus.
The city is also working with Alcoholic Beverage Control to permit the expansion of alcoholic beverage service to outdoor areas.
If you are an owner of a business who would like to obtain a permit, you can email the Development Services Department at devserv@cityofredding.org to request an application. They ask you include a contact name, business name, business address and phone number.
