REDDING, Calif. – A Redding research center is working to run a trial for a potential coronavirus vaccine.
Paradigm Clinical Research Center is searching for volunteers. The research center says it’s looking for people between 18 to 55-years-old. But people over 55 can still participate in the trial.
Dr. Jamshid Saleh, the principal investigator of this trial, says they are looking for people at high risk of exposure, such as health care or grocery workers. The vaccine trial is expected to last about two years.
The vaccines being tested come from bio-tech company Moderna and pharmaceutical company Pfizer.
“It's a pretty scary deal out there right now and you never know what you're going to run into or has it or who doesn’t,” Cathy Cusick from Red Bluff.
“Whatever trials they have I would be 100% for it.”
“I would do anything right now to help mankind and it's very important that we do our part,” said Eddie Rodriguez, who’s visiting family in the area. “We can’t keep on going like this.”
Dr. Saleh says they are looking for about 700 volunteers to be part of this trial. The research center says it plans to start the trial sometime at the end of the month.
