Updated 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 - Early Friday morning Redding police were contacted by the Pittsburgh, California Police Department because they located the vehicle that Redding police said was used in the am/pm attempted robbery.
The Pittsburgh officers searched the vehicle and located a loaded handgun and other evidence.
By working with the Pittsburgh Police Department, investigators with the Redding Police Department were able to identify a suspect. He is 23-year-old Forrest Lee Hahlbeck of Martinez, California.
A felony arrest warrant for the attempted robbery of the Redding am/pm has been obtained by authorities. His location is currently unknown and law enforcement officers consider him to be armed and dangerous.

REDDING, Calif. – Thursday morning Redding police responded to the am/pm store at Lake Boulevard and Masonic Avenue for a robbery in progress. The call came in at 7:05 a.m.
After officers arrived they were told the suspect had fled the scene in a dark-colored Doge SUV. They said they were also informed that the suspect had a pistol during the robbery attempt. Police were told that they clerk did not hand any cash to the suspect before the person fled from the scene.
The description police are providing a description for the suspect. They said the male adult is heavyset, approximately six feet tall, and was wearing a black beanie cap, a black shirt and blue jeans.
The vehicle is described as a black 2001 Dodge SUV.
