REDDING, Calif. - Overall, Redding Police Officers said they're seeing about 30% fewer calls, but police are staying busy.

Officers responded to a call Monday afternoon and when they there, the people who lived there were very happy. It's a tough time for kids to have a birthday party but Redding police tried to make it a special one.

Police officers learned that one boy was turning eight and thought a quick little parade would spread some birthday cheer on Placer Street.

If you have a birthday this month, send Redding Police a direct message through Twitter. Officers said they'll try and arrange a mini birthday parade. They can't promise, as it depends on the calls.
