REDDING, Calif. - Redding police arrested a man they say is connected to a reported stabbing attack in June.

Witnesses say Kyle Sims, 49, of Redding, was seen going into a house on Pray Road in Redding on June 12.

A short time later, witnesses say they heard a male voice pleading, "don't stab me!"

Sims then ran out of the house, followed by the victim who they say was bleeding heavily.

At the time, Sims got away. However, police have made continuous efforts to locate him since the alleged stabbing occurred.

A tip was called in on around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday with Sims whereabouts. Police arrested him in the area of Cedars Road in Redding.

Sims was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and burglary.
