REDDING, Calif. – Redding police arrested a man after he ran from police during a traffic stop Thursday.

Police said around 9:30 p.m. they made a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. Once the vehicle stopped, the driver identified as 50-year-old Oney Rhoades, ran off.

Redding police shared a photo of the cash and meth seized Thursday.

Officers began to chase Rhoades and took him into custody. He was found to be in possession of 15.8 grams of meth and $120 cash, police said. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail.

Rhoades has a lengthy criminal history and is currently on Post Release Community Supervision, following a 2015 domestic violence conviction in which he was sentenced to five years in prison, according to police.
