Redding firefighters put out structure fire filled with trash, human waste

The Redding Fire Department quickly put out a structure fire Tuesday morning.

REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Fire Department responded to a fire on Court St. Tuesday morning.

The fire department said the fire was coming from a vacant warehouse-type building at 2391 Court St. around 7:43 a.m.

Firefighters entered the building and found a room with the floor or garbage burning. They quickly put out the fire and remained at the scene for about 45 minutes.

Firefighters said the building was vacant and an investigation revealed a homeless person broke into the building and was living in the building.

The building was filled with trash and human waste. Firefighters said the fire was human-caused.

There were no injuries in the fire.
