Redding Fire Chief Jerry Gray says they've deployed three fire engines with 13 firefighters to southern California.
Once they arrive they'll get right to work.

Gray says his department is just returning the favor for the help the north state got when wildfires were raging here.

Gerry gray said, “This is what we do. And again, it's not uncommon to see fire agencies and engines from faraway distances up here in Redding when we need them. So we're going to reciprocate the assistance. The city of Redding remains a very active and proud participant of the mutual aid system.”

Chico Fire and Calfire have also sent firefighters to assist in southern California.
