OROVILLE, Calif. - Firefighters put out a fire at a hotel in Oroville early Thursday morning. Oroville Fire Department Chief Chris Tenns said they first received the call around 3:10 a.m. about a fire at the Budget Inn on Feather River Blvd.

Police then arrived shortly after and evacuated everyone who was staying at the hotel. Firefighters say the fire started on one side of the building.

Firefighters were able to stop it from spreading and save several other units from burning.

The fire made its way into the attic of the building. Crews had to drill a hole into the roof to fully extinguish the fire.

Oroville Fire Department said it took firefighters about an hour to knock down the flames. No injuries were reported.

At least 4 people who were staying at the hotel have requested assistance from the Red Cross.

Sunny skies and warming temperatures are ahead through Saturday. Temperatures will cool down on Sunday, and the potential for rain and snow showers will return to northern California Sunday afternoon. We'll stay cool with more showers looking likely next week!
