Redding city council approves coronavirus response

Tuesday night the Redding city council approved a 37.5 million dollar economic response to the coronavirus.

REDDING, Calif - Tuesday night the Redding city council approved a 37.5 million dollar economic response to the coronavirus.

The meeting included approval of the response, which includes a $20-million local economic stimulus package.

The council was also able to approve the refund of REU deposits to existing customers.

The council decided on a budget resolution totaling $9-million dollars. They will take the cap-and-trade fund and distribute it to REU customers.

The Transient Occupancy Tax, modification of the Cares Act, and modification of the Amortization Program were also approved.
