REDDING, Calif. – The Redding Rancheria released its first-ever economic impact analysis.

It’s proof of the tremendous contributions the tribe makes to the Shasta County economy. The report revealed the tribe contributes about $295 million into Shasta County, supports over 2000 jobs, and generates about $103 million in labor income.

“The tribe decided it's been probably well over a year ago to engage this third-party company to this impact analysis report,” said Tracy Edwards, the CEO for the Redding Rancheria.

“It's easy for me to get in front of the camera and tell the community the wonderful things that the tribe does but it became clear to me that we needed to quantify that.”

The economic impact analysis is based on 2018 numbers. The report also looked at the tribe's social contributions

Beacon Economics conducted the analysis.

The first of two storms moved over northern California late last night and this morning, but our weather has quieted for now. More rain showers will fall Saturday, but heavier rain and snow with stronger wind arrives Sunday.
