SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Redding Rancheria is helping in a countywide Covid-19 vaccine rollout this weekend, and has plans to help more in the near future.

Glen Hayward, the executive director of the Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Center said they have been including people between the ages of 20-30 in their Covid-19 vaccination roll-out.

Hayward said, “We saw the majority of our patients that were Covid-positive were between 20 and 40… and that population is going around visiting our elders. They’re visiting their families. So the best thing to do was to vaccinate as many people as possible.”

The clinic on Sunday is providing the Moderna vaccine. All appointments were filled in a time span of three to four hours.

Those 18 and older that were lucky enough to get appointments on Sunday will also get scheduled for their second doses.

The Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Center is hoping to receive another 1000 doses to offer another clinic in the near future.
