Redding Police searching for stabbing suspect

Redding Police are searching for a man in connection to a stabbing Thursday night.

Redding Police are actively searching for a man they say stabbed another man Thursday night.

According to Redding Police, a man walked into Shasta Regional Medical Center with a stab wound around 11:30 p.m. The victim, identified as 27 year old Keith Allen Jackson of Redding, was treated for the stab wound to the lower torso.

Jackson told officers that he was stabbed after an argument by an acquaintance, 26 year old Colten Thomas Carrell of Redding, in the downtown parking structure on California Street. Jackson, who is homeless, was able to walk to the hospital for treatment.

Redding Police describe Carrell as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 150 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. According to Redding Police, Carrell is also homeless and doesn't have a car. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Redding Police Department at (530) 225-4200.
