REDDING, Calif. - Two people were arrested and one is still at large after the Redding Police Department says the three were armed when they robbed three separate AM/PM gas stations within thirty minutes.
The first robbery was just after midnight on Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Bechelli Lane AM/PM. Police say at this location, the store employee said two black men robbed the gas station at gunpoint then left on foot.
While officers were on the scene collection evidence, dispatch received another call of an armed robbery at the AM/PM on Lake Boulevard. As officials responded, they say they received the same description of the suspects as they were given at the Bechelli Lane location.
Something new officers learned at this location, though, was the suspects fled in a silver sedan.
About 30 minutes later, the department says they received another call of an armed robbery at the AM/PM on Railroad Avenue.
Officers immediately went to this location and found the silver sedan. Officials say they tried to pull the car over but the driver took off, initiating a pursuit.
Eventually, police say the car collided with a barrier on South Street. At this point, three people got out of the car, two fled and one stayed and complied with officers.
The one who stayed was later identified as 20-year-old Jeremy Carter.
Officers quickly went looking for the other two suspects, one of which was quickly detained. This person is a juvenile, therefore not being identified.
The third suspect is described as a black male adult, tall, average weight, with long dreadlock style hair with white tips.
Carter was booked into the Shasta County Jail for robbery and conspiracy.
The juvenile was booked into juvenile hall for obstructing or delaying a peace officer.
During each robbery, police say an undisclosed amount of money was taken. The car was towed for evidence and officials say it is being processed by the department's investigations division.
