REDDING, Calif. - Redding Police say they caught the man who robbed the Dollar General on Meadowview Drive on Dec. 26.

A call came in at about 4:30 in the afternoon and when officers arrived, they say they learned the suspect entered the store and with a note, demanded money from the register.

With an undisclosed amount of money, officials say the suspect fled the scene in a Honda Civic.

During the investigation, police identified the license plate number of the car.

Just a few hours later, around 8 p.m., officials say they spotted the car parked in the area of Churn Creek Road and Denton Way.

Devin Michael Martinez was contacted in the car and officials say they found stolen cash and a robbery note.

A clerk from the store identified Martinez as the suspect and he was placed under arrest for robbery and booked into the Shasta County Jail.

No employees or customers were injured during the robbery.
