REDDING, Calif. - An officer-involved shooting occurred Monday morning on Mary Street, not too far from Shasta High School in West Redding.
Neighbors in the 700 block of Mary Street said they heard five gunshots just before 10:00 a.m. and seconds later, ambulances and law enforcement converged at the scene.
Action News Now reporter Spencer Joseph has been at the scene, working to get more details on this story.
Spencer has learned that police thought the person that was shot was a burglar, and that the person was armed.
The suspect, who was shot by Redding Police, was still alive and was taken away by ambulance. We don't know anything yet about that person's medical condition.
The investigation has now been taken over by the Shasta County Sheriff's Office and new information is expected to come from them soon.
