Redding PD Looking for Driver Involved in Saturday Morning Hit-and-Run

The Redding Police Department is searching for a person involved in an early Saturday morning hit-and-run that left one man seriously injured.

REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Police Department is searching for a person involved in an early Saturday morning hit-and-run that left one man seriously injured.

According to RPD, officers got a call just after midnight about a car striking a pedestrian at the intersection of Hartnell and Fairway Avenues.

There, authorities found a man with major injuries and he was later taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was later listed in critical condition.

The unidentified victim was allegedly hit with a vehicle described as a silver or gray sedan with a boxy body style, according to RPD.

RPD also said there was evidence left at the scene indicating the windshield of the suspect car may have sustained major damage during the crash.

The victim of the hit-and-run was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident while crossing Hartnell Avenue, said RPD.

Authorities do not know if alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash. If anyone witnessed the crash, you are asked to call RPD at (530)-225-4200.
