Redding Elks Lodge to host canned food drive

Coming up next week, the Redding Elks Lodge will be hosting a canned food drive.

REDDING, Calif. – In order to help replenish local food banks, The Redding Elks Lodge will be hosting a canned food drive next week.

Items needed include; canned foods, dry foods, paper products, dry or canned dog and cat food, along with bags to put donated items in.

Canned foods

  • Beans
  • Chili
  • Soups
  • Vegetables
  • Broths
  • Meats
  • Fruits
  • Gravy

Dry foods

  • Uncooked oatmeal
  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Noodles
  • Mashed potatoes 

Paper products

  • Paper plates
  • Plastic silverware
  • Napkins
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Facial tissue
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Disinfectant wipes


  • Canned dog or cat food
  • Dry bags of cat or dog food (unopened)

The Redding Elks Lodge will be accepting donations on the following dates: Tuesday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Friday, May 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
