UPDATE: 2:09 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2020 - The baby eaglet born to the Redding eagles - Liberty and Guardian - now has a name.
The baby, born last month in the nest at Turtle Bay is named Hope.
That name was chosen from suggestions submitted to the Redding Friends of the Eagles group. Those interested can monitor it's progress on their Facebook page and website.

REDDING, Calif. – Friends of the Redding Eagles have narrowed down the eaglet names to a top 10 list of suggestions from the public.
Over the week the group launched a contest to name the new eaglet in the eagle's nest.
At one point, there were two eaglets, but one has not been seen since Easter Sunday. The one remaining is the 22nd eaglet to be raised by Liberty, Guardian is her third mate.

The Eagle family has returned to their nest near Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding. Their eaglet is now about four-weeks-old.
Here are the top 10 Eaglet names:
- Hope
- Promise
- Joy
- Uno
- Faith
- Hero
- Unity
- Destiny
- Valor
- Phoenix
