REDDING, Calif. - One person was sent to the hospital in a DUI collision on Thursday near Churn Creek Road and Presidio Street intersection, Redding Police Department said.

Micheal Laemmlein, 58, was driving a 2019 Chevy Corvette northbound on Churn Creek Road when he crossed double yellow lines and hit a Toyota Pickup.

The Toyota then hit a red Ford F-150 as the Corvette continued to shear off a light pole before coming to rest after hitting a Sportsman's Warehouse sign.

Laemmlein had a passenger in his Corvette when the collision caused the airbags to deploy.

Terry Bagley, a 53-year-old Redding resident, was transported to the hospital after making a complaint of pain. No other injuries were reported.

Lammlein was arrested for a DUI and was booked into the Shasta County Jail.

The collision is under investigation by the Redding Police Department Traffic Unit.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
