RED BLUFF, Calif. - One man in Red Bluff is going through great lengths to make sure he's keeping his distance.
Ken Coates is 65-years-old and has lived in Red Bluff for decades. To make sure he's really following social distancing, these days – he doesn’t leave his home without his tape measure.
“If I’m in the store, I’ll pull it out and tell them six-feet, keep your distance,” said Coates.
While some think carrying the tape measure is a bit much, Coates says not so fast.
“They say it's six-feet and they say it’s helping,” said Coates.
Coates tells Action News Now, today is his first time out this week. He is especially concerned because of pre-existing health conditions.
“Couple of years ago I had a stroke, and i have high blood pressure,” said Coates. “I just got to be careful.”
Both the CDC and WHO are urging people to maintain social distancing to help prevent further spread of the coronavirus.
